Information
“The Northern Lights over Bryggen II” captures a rare moment where the historic harbor of Bergen meets the soft, shifting light of the Arctic sky. The contrast between the stillness of the wooden buildings and the movement of the Northern Lights creates a sense of calm, balance, and presence. "The Northern Lights over Bryggen" (Digital Graphic Artwork): Marianne Skjelbred’s limited edition D.G.A prints are signed and numbered, and shipped worldwide. Marianne Skjelbred, who graduated as a photographer in 1997, modifies photographs of her acrylic paintings in a digital process (D.G.A), and the data file is to be considered the pressure plate. In addition to adding colors and light in the digital process, Marianne Skjelbred fine-draws and refines areas in the digitalized pictures. Each D.G.A print is considered an original on par with other graphic works. Giclée (Giclée Fine Art Print) is the designation for how the print itself is produced. The French word giclée (zhee-klay) is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The quality of the giclée print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums and art galleries. The process involves squirting microscopic dots of pigment-based ink onto high quality art paper. The super matt finish of Hahnemüle Photorag gives even color and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth color gradients. Gallery Marianne Skjelbred is located at street level in beautiful surroundings near Fløibanen in Bergen. The address is Vetrlidsallmenningen 8, 5014 Bergen. Marianne Skjelbred works flexible hours in her gallery and atelier. Feel free to contact Marianne Skjelbred by e-mail or cell phone. Email: [email protected] Cell Phone: (+47) 45 24 71 80
